my western nest.

As of Friday, 2/6/15, I am officially in my third trimester.

I’m so excited to be in the homestretch, but in all honesty, I can’t believe how quickly things have moved.  It doesn’t seem like long ago that we posted our 16 week photo and I bought my first girly outfit.  And yet, there is an unassembled crib in our spare room, my baby shower is in 2 weeks, I need to pick a pediatrician, and her kicks have started keeping me up at night.  My ankles are starting to swell, a trip to the grocery store makes me need a nap, and dropping things on the ground has turned into a major annoyance.

As I sit here typing, baby girl Western is dancing in my belly…not a care in the world.  I tear up when I think about her soon I will meet her.  I just can’t wait to kiss her sweet face, look into her eyes, and have her know my voice…just like her sister did.  I can’t wait to make her feel completely loved and special.  I can’t wait to see who she will become.  I can’t wait to see what she likes and dislikes, and who she looks most like…and I can’t wait to be a mommy again.

So, it’s on to the next one for me and my belly!  I’m looking forward to meeting my girl, but I want her to stay put for as long as she needs to.  I’ve waited this long…so there’s no rush.

4 Replies to “third tri’s a charm…”

  1. We are at 32 weeks. I have been feeling guilty about my napping lately, but once the 3rd trimester hit, the fatigue came back with vengeance! I am so excited to meet our baby girl, but it still feels like there are so many preparations to finish. She is our first, so it is hard to know what we need and what we don’t and how much to prepare for our homebirth and breastfeeding, etc. I keep getting tons of advice, which I love, though it can all be overwhelming!

  2. Hi – You & our second “great grand” baby are beautiful. I won’t be at your “shower” but will be thinking of all the fun you will have. I have sent a gift to you – chosen from the registration site. Hope you get it OK. Yo are getting all the snow Minnesota is suppose to have. Think spring. Marilyn Rose (GG) Greatgrandma
