As of last Sunday, this has seriously been the craziest week I can remember. I know that life is going to be pretty busy from the beginning of March until forever…I guess I just didn’t realize that everything could change sooner.
Normally when people speak in generalities and they have been married a while, people assume that they are pregnant. No secret there! I must be speaking about something else…
House Hunters: The Western Addition
For the past year or so, Jon and I have spent hours on Zillow, looking at homes. About a two weeks ago, we decided to take house hunting more seriously. We’ve watched hours of HGTV, and we know what to expect from open houses. For example, when you see a closet in a bedroom, you have to look at your partner and say: “Where are you going to put your stuff?” It’s hilarious protocol.
However, this week, we fell in love with a house for real, in real life. We are in the process of closing right now, and I can’t wait to share more about our new home in the future. We love everything, down to the paint colors. We are so thrilled!
Starting midday on Monday, an eerie feeling fell over New England as a massive blizzard moved it. I guess what happened was called “Juno.” We went to bed on Monday night knowing that on Tuesday, we would be snowed in.
Juno did not disappoint, we got over 2 feet of snow. This is the most accumulation at once that I can ever remember. We made attempts to stay productive throughout the day on Tuesday, but the world was at a standstill. As I remember from snow days past, around afternoon time, I started to feel a little stir-crazy. Around 5, we went outside to try to dig our cars out, only to see this…
Not good. A huge thanks to my husband for digging out my car with his body.
The snow stretched into Wednesday, and by Wednesday afternoon, I actually was able to move my car to a different parking spot.
The problem with all of this snow is that there is literally NO WHERE to put it! Our commute into Boston Thursday morning took twice as long: the roads had all narrowed and there were tons of accidents, as the roads are still slick. We are supposed to get more snow today…and so, the saga continues.
Although it’s the end of January, I finally got to celebrate the holidays with my work friends. On Thursday, we dug ourselves out for some bowling and pizza at Lucky Strike in Boston. Despite being almost 27 weeks, I think I bowled better than I ever have. No worries: I used a light ball, the lightest I could find! My end score was still only 72…but that shows just how bad I used to be.
Our baby shower for Baby Western is coming up quickly! I’m really hoping that Mother Nature gets her act together by the end of February, because I am flying home to Michigan for the shower. I have had so much fun working on little projects for the shower, it’s been a great place to direct all my anxious energy.
I also came across an awesome online tool that I wanted to share: myregistry.com. I love this site because it literally allows you register at the entire internet. I have added items from Etsy, Grace and Lace, the Land of Nod, and I synced up a Target and Amazon registeries.
It feels totally customized! I have had so much fun picking and choosing from different places, instead of having to commit to 1-2 stores. If you have an event coming up that you’ll be registering for, I highly recommend it!
The Perfect Fit Tank
This amazing tank has been a favorite of mine since summer, but I got 2 more on Saturday and I wanted to share just how wonderful they are. The Perfect Fit Tank truly is a one-size-fits-all piece from Grace and Lace, one of my favorite companies ever. If you haven’t checked them out, you definitely should!
These little beauties boast 4-way stretch that makes them flattering on literally every body type. They are long, snug, so soft, and they even fit over my growing bump! Seeing as how I have lived in these tanks since the summer, I thought it was time to share the wealth…but not my actual tanks.
I’m holding on for dear life as these changes keep on rolling in, and it’s getting slippery with all this snow and ice. However, I’m so thankful for the changes that each new week brings. I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
